July 17, 2005: Hole In The Wall
Walking down Elizabeth Street, I passed by a church with a cemetary enclosed by brick walls. After noticing a whole in one of the walls I decided to experiment with the focus on my camera --first focusing on the wall (creating a blurred image of the gravestones inside), and then focusing on the gravestones, (creating a blurred image of wall). As a result, what you see is two shots of the same image, just with different focus points.
For some reason, people walking by thought there was something really exciting inside the wall. As I shot the graveyard through the hole in the wall, passers-by kept on asking me what was inside, and for permission to check it out (as if I the power to control who checked it out).
