April 26, 2005: What $2 Can Get You In New York
Mets fans are comprised of the most annoying people on the planet (second only to New York Rangers fans). Mets fans are bitter that they have a terrible team, an ugly stadium, and that they must rely on the worst subway line in New York to get to that dump in Flushing. Mets fans are the most insecure baseball fans in the country, with complexes as the Yankees' bastard stepchild. In fact, most Met fans refuse to go to Yankee games because they hate the Yankees so much. What ever happened to liking the game of baseball?
This year, the Mets' fan base is so pathetic that tickets to Friday night games against competitive teams cost $2 (and they still cannot sell out games). Even though I am a Yankee fan, and even though the Mets have as much as talent as a Little League whiffle-ball team, I am a baseball fan, and saw the Mets make a rare win against Josh Beckett and the Marlins. Sure, the seats were in the upper tier, but for a baseball game the price of a subway, can you really complain?
