January 19, 2005: MoMA 2
Going to an art museum with someone can be a difficult thing. You end up paying more attention to who you are there with, and don't really focus on what you see. Oh well, I'll be there soon again.
I thought the photography exhibit was pretty impressive. However, one problem with it was that photographs that weren't part of a set were put together too close to one another. I thought that it detracted from some of them. I really enjoyed the work of Andreas Gursky. In fact, one of her prints, 99 Cent (1999), resembles photos I took in Vermont of the 7-11. I swear that I didn't see his work beforehand!
In case you are wondering, these photographs are of the MoMA, not of art there.
