September 03, 2004: Bush Protest 1
During the week of the Republican National Convention, I was unable to get many photographs for a few reasons. First of all, since I do not work in Manhattan, I was not around for the day time protests. Second, since I just moved into a new apartment and got a new position at work, I have been busy getting things in order. Finally, for some reason, whenever I showed up at most protests, not a whole lot was going on.
However, on Thursday night, I was finally able to witness some goings on at Union Square. The protest was very surprisingly calm - there no arguments with police officers or Republicans (who were probably home watching W's speech). One strange thing about the protest: I felt that 15% of the crowd were photographers like myself. I wonder if there was such a large contingent at the other ones.
[Unrelated: I apologize for the lack of commentary recently. My new apartment will not get cable modem access for a few more weeks, and I do not have a computer at my desk at work anymore, so my internet access has been limited.]
