July 13, 2004: Coney Island Bath House 2
Here are more photographs of the Bath House at Coney Island. While its erosion is unfortunate, I really like how you can see the brick foundation as the cement looks like it is peeling off.
Notice how much attention to detail was put into the Bath House. It really is a shame that modern architecture places a higher value on efficiency than aesthetics. Few modern buildings have original characteristics, while most have the same cookie-cutter frames as the ones down the street.
